Copper Canyon Residents,
Out of abundance of caution and in an effort to align with recommendations handed down by Denton County as part of its public health emergency declaration in response to COVID-19, the Town of Copper Canyon will be making changes to operations for at least the next two weeks.
No public meetings will be held
Town Hall: Where feasible, we encourage members of the public to conduct business with town staff through phone calls and emails rather than in person.
Municipal Court: Please check the Town website for updates regarding Municipal Court schedules. Staff will be available by phone or email to assist you with your questions, (940) 241-2677 ext. 1. There are several forms and applications on the Municipal Court page of the website that can be utilized for requests and mailed into the office by your due date.

May 2, 2020 General Election
This year three citizens will be elected to serve, each to serve a two-year term. Please note that the places are not geographically based. The terms of office will be from May 2020 to May 2022. These positions are currently filled by:

Qualifications for Office: All candidates for office must be citizens of the United States, have lived in the state for a minimum of one year prior to the filing deadline, be a resident of the Town of Copper Canyon for six months prior to the filing deadline; must be a registered voter of the territory elected from as of the filing deadline, and be a minimum of 18 years of age.
The first day to file for a place on the ballot is January 15, 2020. The Town Secretary’s Office will begin accepting applications at 400 Woodland Drive, Copper Canyon, Texas for the above-mentioned places Wednesday, January 15, 2020 through Friday, February 14, 2020. The Town Secretary's Office will receive applications at this location during the business week between the following hours: Monday - Friday - 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on February 14, 2020.
